A New Solution for Accreditation

Many health care facilities are reviewing ISO 9000 registration, an international standards process used by hospitals and other health care facilities worldwide, as an alternative to the high costs and disruptions of services inherent in the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (" JCAHO") accreditation.  At present, at least three US hospitals have proceeded with ISO 9000 registration to document their quality systems and other health care providers are reviewing or have commenced the ISO 9000 process.

ISO 9000 standards are generic and non-prescriptive and leave how the standards will be met to each registrant.  This allows ISO registered hospitals to innovate in the design, delivery and administration of health care.  The essence of ISO is that companies are required to "document what they do and do what they document."  This means health care providers can develop and document more efficient systems and procedures to assure quality in health care.  Not every provider is the same.  They all have different missions, markets, staff and clinical challenges.  Why should they all do everything the same way?  ISO is not limited to labs, radiology departments and business operations.  It can also be used to document all medical systems and procedures.

One system meets all your needs!

The Roster Network Integrated Solutions system of ISO facilitation is unique in that it can be used to meet all of the business needs of any health care provider.  The data, documentation, systems and procedures developed with the Roster Network ISO 9000 facilitation process can be used to manage all your business needs, including:

Instead of implementing and managing multiple conflicting systems, one system can meet all your needs!  This will only increase the savings for the institutions or practices adopting ISO.

The Performance Management Documentation Facilitation system creates a Document Team for each system or procedure from the staff members that use the system or procedure on a daily basis.  This team is charged with quarterly reviews of the system or procedure to assure that the greatest quality is delivered in the most efficient manner.  The Document Team is also charged with an ongoing review of the tools and processes and are empowered to change the systems and procedures they use and update the applicable documentation as they develop new insights into productivity.  This creates a focused empowerment for the employees and a procedure for innovation that is subject to management review as needed.
