Employer Description

Client is a well established, highly-profitable, growing organization that is a stand-alone division of a $2 billion parent company (the parent provides proprietary, manufactured products and engineering services for customers in over 100 countries).  This company manufactures a variety of (PRODUCT LISTING), distributed to a variety of global customers.  This is an autonomous job shop, non-union facility that is 9001 certified.

General Position Description

The General Manager will have total responsibility for ensuring the manufacturing, customer service, product design / development and related functions maintain and enhance their positions relative to quality, productivity, cost containment and state-of-the-art leadership in all operating areas.  Will look at ways to improve factory manufacturing, cost containment, TQM, resource allocation, employee empowerment and continuous improvement. This facility is a focus factory utilizing cell based manufacturing methods, employs 350 and has annual sales of $100 million.

Minimum Position Requirements

Our client has determined the following are the minimum position requirements that apply to this position.

Position Requirements Your Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years management experience in all standard operating/ manufacturing/ quality/ materials areas.

Experience with engineering, production, QA, materials management (pull systems), product design and development, inventory control, plant layout, and all manufacturing support operations.

Proven record of accomplishments in terms of directing a technology/ engineering‑oriented group in a rapidly growing company.

Substantial personal experience in the areas of developing and implementing business strategies, budgets, financial planning and utilizing other management tools to meet or surpass goals and objectives.

Exposure to focus factory concepts, continuous improvement, resource allocation, employee empowerment and synchronous manufacturing operations.

Technical academic background (MBA a plus)

Experience with machining, assembly and test of precision engineered, metal components or products.

Involvement with high volume, job shop, engineered products sold to a variety of industrial customers.

Exposure to international operations as well as union and non-union operations.
